When the radio in my 1987 Mazda RX-7 failed, I bought a Pioneer brand replacement. With everything connected, I'm getting no sound through the speakers. The factory setup includes some sort of auxiliary amplifiers and I suspect I'm not correctly connected to those amps. Any advice? Might it be possible to bypass the aux. amps? Would the radio then play directly to the factory speakers or would I have to replace the speakers also?

It is possible your factory amp is not being powered up by the radio. Or the amp is broken. A solution to this is to wire the factory speakers directly to the radio.
