I picked up an old school punch 400.4 amp. Figured it may need repair so I opened it up and found one of the diodes had fried. I was hoping someone might have one of these amps and could provide me with a part number. There are only 2 of these diodes in the amp the one that burned is closest to the rca's. The other diode says 9923 on it but i'm not sure the burned diode is the same kind. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If one end of the diode is electrically connected to the shield of the RCA jacks, a 1N4004 is available at radio shack.  1N400(any number from 1 to 7) will do just fine.

well I suppose I should have payed attention to the polarity when I removed the old one. Looking at the amp with the power supply at 12:00 will the stripe on the diode be on the right or left.
Thanks for your help.

Notice the shape of the pads that the diode solders to.  I do not remember which way they do it, but if there is another diode, the Square pad of that diode will be on the same end of that one.  So if the banded end is on the square pad of the one still in the board, that is how the other one should go in.
