i install my new deck its a sony explode, CDX-340? simillar to many others, but it heats up very fast to like 300 degress sometimes, i recently installed my 15" alpine typer r and fried it in a matter of minutes. very stupid. it didnt even seem at peak power, can this have something to do with the deck heating, or was the bass too loud? even on this strong sub?

Check your wiring.
First and foremost determine the cause of the stereo overheating. does it shut off? does it say "Protect" on the display?
A common mistake is overloading the outputs of the deck with too many speakers.
As for the sub woofer failure, again most problems can be traced back to wiring. But with the case of amplifiers improper gain adjustments.
