cyclone 2000 watt amp

I have a cyclone (ca-2098) 2000watt 2channel bridgeable amp. It worked awesome.I sold my truck and took it out and now I am installing it again. I have it all in and the green light comes on for 3 seconds and then the red protection light comes on and the green light goes out. I know that it has 3 way protection, I also know it works, I just cant get any sound to the speakers and I cant get the green light to stay on. I rewired the pos. and ground. I need help bad. Oh, and I double checked all fuses and all were good. Please help. I cant find a manual anywhere on the net and I seem to have lost mine. Thanks

Did you use a volt meter to make sure the amp is getting power and ground?   You must place the black meter lead on the ground terminal of the amp when testing this.

I dont have a volt meter but I did use a test light and it lit up telling me it had ground.

Unplug the RCA cable from the amp, does it still behave in the same manner?

Your right.I unplugged my rca's and the red light went out and the green came on. I plugged them back in and then unplugged the speaker wires from the amp and the green light came on also.I am not sure why but it might be because I have dvc subs in a box wired at 2 ohms and I think the amp is for 4 ohm's.Is this why or maybe is it something else?

Could be a few different things.  Most likely cause is you have a Pioneer radio, and there is a defective shield path on the RCA cable.  Second possibility is a faulty ground or power source.  You will have to use a volt meter to find out which of them you are missing.   Thirdly it could very well be the fact that you have the amp wired into a load that is too close to a dead short.  Have you used a meter to verify the resistance of the speakers?

I dont have a pioneer deck. Its a magnadyne. The set up I am using I have used before.The only difference is that I might be using too small wiring. I originally ran the amp with 4 gauge power and ground but this time I used 10 gauge. Should I switch back to the bigger that I used when it all worked in my truck? As far as the rca's I have several pair and can try different ones. I dont have a meter so I am kind of playing it by ear here.Thanks again for all your help!!!!!!
