constant power honda civic 2004

I cannot find constant power when wiring my deck. i do not own a meter and was wondering if anyone knows which factory wire is constant power. I found that the red white is constant power but does not work. the only way to power the deck is to hook both red and yellow wires into the 1 red wire. the problem is that the memory is lost every time i turn my car off. can someone please help guide me to the correct setup method?

The color is WHITE/ red but you will still need a meter to confirm that you have the right wire. Otherwise, any information anyone gives you is useless at best or you will damage your car and/or equipment. You can get a relatively inexpensive one at your local autoparts store, Walmart, RadioShack, etc. If you are not getting power to the WHITE/ red wire, check fuse 9 in the underhood fusebox.This information is provided only as a reference.

All circuits should be verified with a digital multi-meter prior to making any connections.

another option would be to just run a wire from the battery.  Might not be the easiest thing for someone who doesnt have the equipment though.  Also, would it be acceptable to tap into the 12v constant at the ignition harness?  Would be closer, but if you don't have a DMM i doubt you have a soldering iron.

Since i can't edit, i'll make another reply.  Make sure whatever you do, you fuse our power wire.  Don't want you catching your car on fire
