07 charger alt problem

i just put a treo 2000.1 amp and a treo ssx10 sub in my 2007 charger. i wasnt having any battery light issues before i put the system in. i saw that it has a 140 amp alternator and i thought that it would be enough for the system. now even with the volume on the head unit turned all the way down the battery charge light still comes on. is the alternator in the car just a piece of junk or is my battery not able to hold a charge or what. i dont really want to go out and buy a new alternator because i have ran more powerful systems in other cars with out this problem and the other cars were running like 60 or 80 amp alts. any help please.

Probably first thing would be get a meter and test the voltage at battery , amp ,  etc...! You can do the same with the stereo at various levels eventually to the loudest you would ever listen to it...Recording voltage each time...Have a buddy hold the vehicle at 1500-2000 rpm's and test again...Start there...Maybe read up on The Big 3 too...M.E.C.P & First-Class

Can you ascertain where the charging voltage is being sensed? Else the voltage across the battery as opposed to the system/ignition/ECU voltage? Charging systems should be sensing (at least) the battery voltage. But many monitor the system/ignition voltage instead, or the alternator output voltage, and assume that that reflects the battery voltage.
