08 caliber w/ boston acoustic system

Has anyone done a deck install in one of these outfits with the boston system?  We are having trouble with an 08 caliber when the radio(kenwood kdc-bt645u) is plugged in with the aftermarket harness and key then turned on it works great.  Cycle the key off then back on then there is no full range sound.  The factory amp is data turn on so it's not like I can run a wire back to it.  We have used the metra chto-03 and chto01 with no luck.  We have called metra tech support and they just say "it should work".  Has anyone else had trouble and or success, what harness did you use?  thank YouAdvanced

the metra harnesses are POS for dodge and chrystler. try the PAC adapter, it should run you about the same price.
