mosfet, mtx 1501d

hello all,

i was givin a mtx 1501D, it lights up and will put out sound (faint), opened it up i noticed 8 mosfets were fried. two questions: (1) where is the best place to buy the mosfets,  parts express or is there another recommendation.

(2) what is the most common reason for mosfet failure? my guess impedance,  falty/loose power wires or too small of wires.

I am willing to bet that there is something else shorted in the amp that took the power supply out.  The voltage regulator circuitry that regulates the voltage to the op amps, is known to fail and cause catastrophic damage.  When it fails it no longer regulates the voltage at the +15 and -15 volts that it loves.  When they fail it puts + or - rail voltage (50 volts or so) on one or the other halfs of the op amps.  This voltage usually takes out most if not al of the op amps.  Then the output transistors fail.  I really hate to bust your bubble, but this is probably not going to be an easy repair.  I have pictures on the way to show you what to look for,

Check pretty much every component you see in the following link.  It is not uncommon to have to replace almost every component in the picture plus every op amp in the amp.

 the link didnt work for me, after i opened it and saw the burnt mosfets, i took it to a repair shop to see if there was more damage then what i uncovered. he said it was just the mosfets also.

i'd like to see that link though
