I have just recently put a system in a mitsubishi eclipse 2006

clarion NZ409 headunit

2 10" clarion PXW1052 1000watt 4ohm subs

2 sets of clarion SRG1620R 2-way 180watt 6.5 speakers

2 850watt clarion DPX851amp, one for each sub

1 clarion 450watt amp for 6.5

I also have a second batery in the trunk which has all of the stereo equipment hooked up to it. I have never had a problem starting the vehicle or dimming of lights I do however have an issue with the sound system. Worked great for a few weeks but now when I turn it on while driving the subs work for 30 secs and shut off then come back on then off again, the door speakers sound like I am losing a radio station and becomes fuzzy and garbled and also the volume sounds like it is turning down???? any advise or problem solving steps would be great

You will need to check all your power connections and grounds. Sounds like the amps are loosing power from the battery.
Also, see if when this happens the "protection" light comes on the amp.

U are using a battery isolator. This isolator may not be letting the rear battery charge. Most likely its a simple isolator that was not rated for the draw of your system and now needs to be replaced.
Also, is the rear battery a deep cycle battery?
