Is it ok if I split one channel to connect my sub amp (eclipse XA1200)? I don't know what happen, but I only have one channel working on my HU (Kenwood excelon KDC-X591)! I tried another set of RCA and it didn't work; right now I have only 1 channel of my amp working (I tried both and they work).

If the RCA output on your radio is a summed output designed specifically for subwoofer out, then you will be fine. If the output of your radio is a stereo output (Separate outputs for left and right) you will be missing 1/2 of the bass info.

I am an idiot, I read the manual and it doesn't say anything about the sub signal. The RCA set that I'm talking about is for subwoofer only (my HU has 3 sets of outputs). Thanks.

The rca's are fused in the Kenwood, but still odd that one works........

you could use a y splitter to give both channels signal.

To determine if you have summed or stereo out, connect the one that is working. Balance the radio first right then left, if you have bass in both of the above situations, you have a summed output. If you have bass on only one or the other, you have stereo bass.

Ok I am an idiot; I only have bass in one side; how this affect the bass (the XA1200 is a mono amp)?

You will be missing half of he information. Probably not even going to notice that it is missing. If it were feeding an amp for your mids and tweets, you would lose the stereo imaging. Not as noticeable at the lower frequencies. Most recordings differ very little left to right on the frequencies that your sub reproduces.
