Newbie here, don't think this is a duplicate. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. 2001 Durango with stock Infinty 2 Ohm system. I have been running two Kicker 10's from a kenwood 450 watt mono amp. I hooked in to the stock right rear speaker and it sounds great. Well, I get bored easy and when I was younger I always dreamed of having an awesome system. I can afford it now! Well used anyway. I've got two Eclipse 12's, two Volfenhag 12's, two Sony Explod 10's, two Kicker Impulse 10's, two Xile 61/2 two ways, 2 Fosgate mids & tweets with seperate in-line crossovers. I have,( in order to run with the speakers listed) Xplod 800 watt for Eclipse, Xplod 1000 watt for Volfenhag, TMA(JL) 320-4 for Xplod 10's, Kenwood 450 mono for Kicker 10's(Already wired for those- 8 Ohm 10's dropped to 4ohm) Punch 450-4 for punch mids n tweets with crossovers in between, Punch 60 for Xile two ways and last but not least; an Audiobahn AEQ6Q pre amp. I have a Peripheral that I'm going to tie in to the stock right rear speaker like I did previously. Am I crazy? Yeah probably, but aren't we all? I have manuals for all the equipment, but my pre-amp doesn't show what goes to what. I plan on using Y RCA adapters and just start goin to town. I want to run all the subs off the sub output & run the mids and tweets off the main R/L F/R outputs. I have junction boxes for main power and remote power, as well as running seperate grounds to all six amps......So have at it, tear me up cuz I want the input! Please haha Thanx guys

I counted 8 Subs total.
This is all on the stock Head Unit? Have you given any thought into how you want to power all of this?
I would stick to 2-subs and buy a new head unit myself. Amp for the subs and an amp for the Door/Dash speakers. Then if there is any money left over and you still want more boom start adding more subs.
Maybe you can elaborate on your idea of an "awesome system"? (sound quality, SPL, mirror rattling etc.)
My $0.02

Hello awdeclipse,

Thanks for the response, I guess what I mean by an awesome system is, well, extremely loud and as clear as possible. Music like Stevie Ray Vaughn, Metallica, Pearl Jam, etc. I'm running the stock head unit because, #1: cost, 2: audio controls on the steering wheel( I know I can modify, but would rather not. again, cost), 3: I like the 8 spkr 2 ohm stock system and 4: I actually am going to put all of this in my boat when I finish the engine for it. Honestly though; I'm a big kid! There is a kid down the street that I am helping build a car for and he also has an Explorer with one 12" speaker, he's a good kid but has always given crap about my "little 10's" I've had in my Durango, so just for the Heck of it, I'm going to rattle his teeth! I've been a mechanic for over 20 yrs and I build custom cars and bikes, so I know a lot of people in the area. A friend has a repo business & I got most of the stuff from him, the rest I just went to local stereo shops seein what they had layin around. The only thing I bought new was actually a head unit! That's goin in the boat though, Kenwood that I got from Pep Boy's wholesale for $70. All in all I have about $700 invested. Not bad if you look at the list of things. I know some of it's a few years old, but so am I!

I'm looking for input like "You should arrange the amps in a different way", or "you should bridge this and not that". I built a speaker box with 16' of interior volume. Both sets of twelves in their own compartment(5.16 cubic ft vol. each), vented, facing forward, Sony's facing rear,(3.43 cu ft) vented upward, Kickers facing up,(2.2 cu ft) vented upward. I'm going to use RCA Y connecters(3 for left & 3 for right, making a total of 8 outputs) running out of the sub output from the pre amp. Then use the main outs for the mids and tweets. What do you think! I actually should be done tonight, if all goes well, I'll post some pics and fill you in on what happens! Definitely would like more input though..Thanx
