active tweeter?

Sorry my first attemp to post this question didnt go so well.

Hello all, I am new to the forum and wanted to ask a question about tweeters.

First my system consists of the following.

Pioneer HU. Older model DEH P5900IB

Old school coustic crossover 3 channel plus (F/R center channel basically just a high pass 250hzs)

Sony XM-3046 4channel amp 40X4 or 120X2

Sony XS-HF137 comps with ribbon tweeter running 200 Hz and up

Peerless 6.5 mid bass running 80 to 240 Hz

Kenwood Amp (can’t remember the model) 500 watts RMS mono

1.5 cf ported box tuned to 38 Hz, with two RF P2D48 running at 2 ohm.

 I am using my band pass channel of the crossover for the midbass units. But I would also like to run my tweeters active rather than passive. Probably with a separate amp, maybe 30X2? Are there any crossovers available that have 2 band pass channels as well as a tweeter and sub channel? Or maybe a separate electronic crossover for the just the tweets?

 Any help would be great, and thanks in advance.

Do it on the cheap. Anyone can do it with tons of cash.

almost any 3 way crossover will do you just need to make sure the middle channel will do a band pass between the other two. use the high pass in your radio and set it to 80hz to filter out the sub bass from the whole system. use an active crossover's lowpass set higher than the radio's lowpass to create a band pass for your peerless. use the band pass built in to the active crossover for your component mids. use the remaining channel of the active crossover for your tweeters. amp everything separately, a 4 channel counts as 2 amps just keep your tweeters on one set of channels and a set of mids on the other two and use a different amp on the set of speakers thats left.

Oh yeah, thats a great way to do it.

it wasn't easy for me either. i had to think about it for a while before i figured it out.

Set it up this weekend, Worked perfectly.

I have so much control over everything now. Which is both good and bad. I can sometimes be a cronic tweeker. i'm sure it will take me a while to get everything to where I no longer feel the need to tweek anything. But I'm already much happier with the over all sound. The stock passives had a really high cross over (9khz) now I'm running around 5 or 6 khz. And it has made a huge improvement over all.

Oh on a side note, I now can run the peerless's down to sub levels, which is a nice option. with it adjusted right, its hard to tell my rear suds are even there. Lows seem to come from everywhere, and nowhere.

nice im glad it worked out, it took me a couple of weeks to tune my system before i could leave it alone.
