I need a little advice/help with my current Clarion audio build. I have a clarion vz309 HU. I have 450w (80max rms) 6x9s in rear and 280w (55max rms) 6.5s in front. Along with 2 1500w (500max rms) Dvc subs in the rear. In preparation of my build
I have already made a 0ga power wire run to the rear. Now of course I will have to distribute the power between the 4ch amp under the passenger seat and the amp for the subs.
POWER.
Question is, the xh5410 is 640w.
To power the 4ch...will I need to run 4ga from the distribution block to the amp? Or would an 8ga wire do? Also would I need an inline fuse between the distribution block and the amp?
The same question applies to the sub amps as well.
GROUND.
Now I plan on grounding the 4ch to the chassis via the seat bolt. Or I may run wire to a cleaner ground. The sub amp will be grounded to the chassis as well. Should I use the same gauge wire as I did with the power to the amp?
Or should I run a 0ga ground wire from the battery to a distribution block and ground the amps to it?

as for question 1, 8ga will get you by but a better choice would be to run 4 from the distro. as for the inline fuse, you can purchase a fused distro and that will cover both of your amps.

#2, if you use the seat bolt just make sure that it has a clean contact with the body of the car and it will work fine. typically you would like to ground the amp within 12-18 inches of the amplifier. i would not recommend using a distro ran to the battery of the vehicle. just ground each amp near where it is actually mounted.
