Hello all,
I have a 2011 Ram 1500 with the upgraded Alpine system in it, which means it has a stock amp. What I am looking to do is hook up my alpine mrp-m500 amp to power my 10" type r sub.
Can a step down converter be used with the stock amp in place? My plan is to get the step down converter, tap the speakers, run the RCA out from the step down to the MRP-m500 and finally connect to the type r.
I am wondering if this is the correct way to wire a sub with factory touch screen head unit and factory upgraded audio.

you can hook up the line out converter behind the radio and tap into speaker wirees or tap into the speaker wires at the amp doesnt matter if it before or after the amp
