I have a '98 Chevy C1500 WT with the stock AM/FM factory radio. I purchased an AM/FM/CD unit from a 2005 Dodge Caravan for $.01 on Ebay. It seems to work fine. Any suggestions on the easiest way to mate my new radio with my old truck. I think I understand what is needed, but would certainly appreciate any expertise from any of you out there. THANKS!

as far as wiring goes, I believe that Best buy carries reverse harnesses (male factory harness) that you can get for the dodge radio, then get a normal harness for your chevy, get a wire diagram for both and match up the wires. As far as mounting goes, it will probably be some custom brackets.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I will check out our local BB tomorrow.  My son-in-law was a corporate exec with CC at the end.  He started out in car audio and I was alway impressed with CC's car audio resources.  I still miss that expertise.  Happy New Year!

You will need a Metra 71-6502 to plug into the dodge deck. Also a Metra 40cr20 for the antenna jack of the dodge deck. You will need a Metra 40GM10 antenna adapter for the truck, and also a Metra 70-1858 for the truck end of things.
At retail 60 dollars for those 4 pieces.

Thanks for the replies.  I was able to score a Dodge harness plug from a salvage yard, a Chevy adapter at Walmart and the antenna adapter.  The only wire in the Dodge harness that doesn't match up to the Chevy adapter is one labled a 12 volt PCI bus.  My guru at the Chrysler dealership says to ignore it.  I have matched all the wires.  Any thoughts or suggestions?  Thanks!

If you plug it in, and it works, all you need now is the fabrication.
However... The dual aftermarket wiring (back-to-back) harness suggestion was a GREAT one, as you'll be sure to get all the wires connected to the deck correctly.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
