2007 mustang coupe (original shaker 500 all scrapped)
Pioneer avic-z130
jl 300/4/v2
jl 500/1v2
focal 165a3
Qform kick panels
focal 690ca1
jl 12W6v2-D4 (pair)
Dynamat
The tweeter and the 4" are going in the kick panel with some poly fill and the 6.5" is going in door (the old 8" sub location).
The 6 x 9 are going in the rear deck.
The 12's are going in the trunk. 2 separate sealed 1.25 cu ft. enclosures. One on the passenger side (similar to jl stealthbox) and a mirror box (almost) on drivers side. Instead of facing one another they are almost at a 45 deg tilt upward towards the center of the car on both boxes.
My questions are about separation of speakers. If the sub's are in the trunk (sealed) will they interfere with the 6 x 9's in the deck. Focal's suggested 6 x 9 application is Load: V(l) 150, F-3 (Hz) 47, Ql 0.93 If i read that right they are asking for a 150 liter enclosure for the 6 x 9's (the trunk)? With the jl amp's I can keep the frequencies separated (high pass rear- low pass sub). So do I need a separation of space and if so what are some options.
Also the 6.5" going into the sealed door panel enclosure (not sure of the volume haven't measured in yet). Should I open that enclosure up into the door cavity for a larger volume. Focal's suggested vol. I believe is 30 liters (the door). Opinions welcome here.
 
Going to TRY (LOL) and wrap this up in the next 2 weeks. I've got the car stripped now. Placing the dynamat, working on sub enclosures, installed an autopage 915 rs/alarm, changing led's to blue, and changing interior color (from camel and black to black and red). So I've got a little time to make some changes or modifications.

Well since I have not got any comments on this, Thought I'd at least get the response of "don't use the rear deck". I got a much more general question. Below is a copy/paste I got from a DIY. How critical flush mounting in an automobile? And is there any limitation on how thick a baffle can be? I'm asking these question because I would like to the best I can do with what I have to work with (Tools and car limitations). Again any all comments (even negative) welcome and appreciated. Why do you want to flush mount the drivers? Be sure to flush mount all of the drivers. Not doing so will cause small spikes in the frequency response produced directly in front of the speaker. For that matter, any protrusions on the surface of the speaker box can produce these spikes in frequency response. There are two ways to flush mount a speaker. The first is to use a router and cut a groove around the outside of the driver hole that is as deep as the driver edge. The simpler method is to add another piece of wood of the right thickness with holes for the drivers directly over the baffle. Be sure to do this correctly. If the front of the driver is not flush with the baffle, then all this work is wasted.

In my opinion I would get these for the 2 rear deck speakers to gkeep the sound going into the car and blocking most waves that could distort or flutter the the 6x9's cone.

I would allow the Focals high-pass filter to about 200hz to focus on mid-bass, Vocals, and high's (tweeters).

I'm going to try to enclose some of the area under the rear deck. Trying to get about 1 cubic foot for each speaker. Also going to make some sort of provision to place a port into the cabin if needed.

As for the 6.5" speakers I placed in the factory 8" sub location it was easy enough to open the door panel into the door cavity. Haven't got as far as i hoped at this point, had to do some clean up after the tornados came threw and with the unseasonably warm weather got a little sidetracked a few evenings. Looking forward to getting this done as this is my first major audio project. Hoping for a big improvement over the factory shaker 500. If there is any interest when i get a little closer to being done Ill start a thread in the appropriate section and post some pictures with some comments.
