mids and tweets into 4ch amp info wtd

hiya guys

i need a little info please

my head units an alpine cda 9835

mids are 6.5" dls ps6

tweets are a decent quality

i want to run the mids and tweets off a 4 channel amp

mids off 1 channell,tweets off another

and a sub off another amp

anyone know how to change the settings for my tweeters on the hu ?

ive been told i need to bring it down to about 4khz

i run my front components off of an alpine 4 channel. the tweeters take up 2 channels and the mids use the other two. i have to run the signal through a 3 way electronic crossover because i am not using the crossovers than came with the set of components. is this something you are trying to do?

i wish to use setup as above,2 channells for tweeters,and 2 for the mids,all setup on the hu

You must use crossovers.  Fortunately your CDA-9835 has crossovers built into it.  See page 15-16 of your owner's manual.  The trick will be knowing what pass bands to set for your woofer and tweeter.  DLS uses a 4KHz crossover in their component set using that woofer, so you are likely safe setting it as the mid band (rear outs) with a high pass of 80Hz and a low pass of 4000Hz, and using your tweeters as the high band (front outs) with a high pass of 4000Hz and hope the ones you've chosen can handle that.  You'll need to use the gains on the amp to balance the levels.Support the12volt.com
