I'm installing a hu with 4 channel amp. My hu has only two rca out. I need to know if I can use y-splitters to my AMP? Alternatively, can I use the normal speaker wires to connect to my AMP instead, if I have a hu without RCA out connectors?

If you want to be able to fade front to rear, you will need to use the speaker wires and a Line Out Converter to feed the front channels of the amp, ot upgrade to a deck with at least 2 sets of RCA jacks.

If you are not worrying about fading, Y adapters will be needed.

you can run the speaker wires straight from the radio to the amp if the amp has a set of high level inputs. if not then you are stuck with using y-splitters or a line output converter.

The reason I reccomend an LOC is to not have extra speaker wire draped/ran  through a car.  Professionally ran does not usually cause problems.  A pinched or grounded speaker wire can take out the output IC of a radio.  WIth it now being nearly impossible to find anybody to repair a radio, the 20 bucks for the LOC is really worth using.
