I bought an open box Jvc KD a525, all the wiring is correct. I also installed some jl 5.25 speakers in the front doors using the existing stock wiring. There are stock 6x9s above the rear seat. As i turn the volume up on the deck past 25 there is no distortion it sounds good. If i go past 26 it seems like there is not enough power for the deck the volume degrades and sounds like crap. I have a volt meter on my Cadillac and its running at anywhere from 13.2-14v's. I have no amps hooked up just the head unit. And I’m using the existing wiring i don't have any idea what the problem could be. It sucks because i like it loud and clean and it sounds terrible. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Should i do a big three on a 1990 Cadillac Seville??? IDK PLEASE HELP.

always do the big three when the road is leading to volume..

buy some decent efficient 6x9s... i like infinitys

buy a quality 4x50 or more amp ... i like JL.

if after that you fel the ned for more bass, buy a sub and amp

I have plans for 2 12's but for my friend is going to sell me some jl 6x9's. the big three even for just the deck problem..its just frusturatingss grrrr head unit -- posted image.

big three most likely wont help the radio put out more power ....its probably doing the best it can.

you need more power.

the JL ovals will be a great addition, epecially if you hook a good amp to them.

2 x 12"? Check the laws of physics and wavelength.

You might use them in a Winnie. Do you see where I'm going here.

Also it's bad practice to mount 6X9" in the rear then shove in a sub, sound wise it's a mess with all sorts of sound wave cancellation effects.

Big 4th. rule, if you have a sub, forget big speakers at the rear.

Number wise what is the max volume the radio can put out? On the lower end radios it is typical to notice power dropout at 3/4 max volume more than the higher end radios. ALL radios drop power at 3/4 (roughly) max volume. Most factory radios are detuned so max that you can control is actually 3/4 of its potential power output. Basically to keep you from blowing up your radio and getting a new one from them for free. lol

If you are putting decent 6x9's in the rear and a Sub, Provide an enclosure for the 6x9's. Will help some...
