I was just was given a never installed pldnv78i Pyle. However it is missing the 16 PIN power and speaker harness. Are these pretty much standard? Is there a 1-16 standard connector pin out? Can I make my own connector? Any comments on the pldnv78i?

thanks

For free you probably cannot complain.  I would never spend a dollar on anything named Pyle but again, for free who cares!  This is actually a tough harness to find.  I have been looking since I read your post and no luck.  I am thinking your best bet is to contact the manufacturer directly.  Good luck!

does it have a sticker diagram on the top or bottom that shows the pin-out of how the plug is supposed to be? if so then you should follow that to make sure whatever plug you find is correct. otherwise dont just shove a random plug into the radio because thats a huge risk and if you are wrong then you will most likely end up with a brick instead of a radio. yes a lot of plugs are fairly universal in shape but just because a plug physically fits doesnt mean it is right.

Thanks!!!

It has the sticker on the topside with the color codes, but you cannot make out a pin order (pin #1=??) I can purchase one from PYLE for 20.00 shipped. Do you think the head unit  is worth it?

For only 20 no doubt.  Like I was saying before I would never buy anything from Pyle but if you got this unit for free and only had to spend 20 to get it going... why not?  The specs are pretty decent and it actually has some pretty good reviews.

id get the harness from pyle. 20 bucks is pretty average for a radio harness, you could probably find it cheaper on ebay or some other site but you take the chance of getting the wrong plug. free or not its a big risk to take on any piece of electronic equipment.
