I have a 04 f350 diesel. Had the 6 disk player in it. Trying to instal after market gps/stereo/dvd player Now the crazy parts..At least in my head..All the wiring diagrams here or anywhere don't explain what the wires are doing.. the main ones I am having issues with are:
solid pink 12v constant
drk GREEN/ purple 12 v constant
BLACK/ red 4 v constant
grey/blue ?v noting on acc or on
BLACK/ green ( i have 2 of these i thought were ground)
black (thought was ground)
the rest i am sure are speaker wires given the same colours appear elsewhere in diagrams
my new deck is wanting :
pink to brake
orange to ill
red to acc
blue to ant (+)
yellow to 12v
black to 12 neg
orange to reverse in
ir brown
If anyone can help me with this I will be forever great full.. now i did have the black red and pink tied together and my truck would try to start right away when turned to accessory. so i discontected that and now truck almost sounds like it is out of time.. so weird Something is really wrong here.. so I disconnected those and all seems to be ok. getting a little gun shy now. thanks again for any input..

buy the adapter harness for your truck and you dont have to worry about what wire does what.

thanks ween.. maybe you can help me here with my confusion.. when i test the pink i get 12v continuously.. no acc. also is there a difference in grounds? ie the black on the truck is it a frame ground and the black green ground on the neg terminal? This truck is driving me nuts.. Will try what you have suggested and report back for others to learn..

check power on pink with door open, should follow ignition switch...has retained accessory power from factory. use BLACK/ light green for ground, not thin black.

You bought the truck off ebay from China?
Bottom line: never hack off the OEM wiring harness from any vehicle except in an absolute last-ditch effort to make something work. It only makes your life miserable.
