amp goes into protection

pleeeeeazzzzzzz..... lol, I need help. I substituted literally all components in my audio installation, but i still have the same problem. for some really weird reason my amplifier starts up, plays softly, but when I crank up the volume the amps goes over to protection. I eventually ended up changing the head unit, amps, power cable, fuse, earth wire, all connections to the speakers,RCA's and remote wire. I re-did the earth connection points on the car body for the amps and radio aswell. don't know what else to try. any help would be awesome.laaaang-gat

Is (are) the speaker impedance(s) correct? Or have their wires or coils shorted?

Sounds like gain cranked way too high to me.Support the12volt.com

i vote either for the wrong ohm load of the speakers or more speakers than the amp can handle.

thank you guys, really appreciate the help. I double checked everything. impedance is 4ohm, amp is more than capable of handling the power consumption of the speakers as-well. another guy said the I might have some induced signal coming through either the power cable or the remote wire.laaaang-gat

Play only one speaker at a time. You will find that one speaker will make it shut down. There is a shorted driver or a grounded speaker wire on that door. Find it and fix it and call it a day.

yea, Mr. IAAI is probably right, there are cases when everything looks normal when the system isnt on but a speaker might be loose or very very close to touching something that will ground the speaker's terminals and when the speaker starts playing it vibrates and touches something it shouldnt touch thus sending the amp into protect. possibly why you can play it at low volume but as soon as you turn it past a certain point it shuts off. sometimes i wish they would make amps with a diagnostic function so you could see what sent it into protect do the one speaker at a time test to isolate which speaker is causing the problem and then check the install of the speaker to make sure it isnt loose or the terminals are not touching anything related to the car. if you for some reason cant change the mounting of the speaker then you can find a way to insulate the speaker terminals from the car.
