hey all. my names tom. im installing a pair of re audio 12" xxx subs in hos 2011 mistubishi lancer.he's in the army, over in afghanistan, and asked me if i could build the encloure(s) and install them and the new amps. of course i said sure!!

now, ive never built a sub enclosure, but have a lot of woodworking skill, all the tools and lots of knowledge on how to build the enclosure(s) to withstand the forces of these beasts. what im havin problems with is,well, everything else!

re audio recommends 2.2 cubic feet @ 34 htz.if i am not mistaken, that is not including port area and speaker displacement? if so, i can do it, but im runnin into a problem: port location. now, if i figured this out correctly, i should have 28 square inches of port per sub. im not findign the area for it on the face that the subs will be in without compromising overall strength of the enclosure. so could the port be installe on another surface?

if it matters, his music taste is hard drivin rock( metallica, pantera, ozzy).

i have really gained a lot of appreciation for you audiophiles and any help will be greatly appreciated by both me and my son.
