No questions here, just wanted to 'show off' my latest 'creation'... a 2008+ WRX steering wheel with built-in cruise and audio controls into my 2004 STi. It required some custom wiring, but the spline and everything matched up. Then as far as the airbag goes, I was able to transfer my single stage airbag charge into the new airbag (instead of the dual stage that comes with the 08+)
Resistors removed from the 08+ cruise control circuit board and new wires soldered on:

OEM and new wires tucked neatly away in shrink tubing:

Diodes added to prevent back-feeding from new wires:

Soldered, taped and shrink tubed:

Wires cut and spliced into 2004 connector:

Not taking any chances of a ground coming loose and having to pull the airbag again to repair it. Wires soldered to ring terminal:

Button panels mounted and wire harness completed:

Completed and installed (along with iDatalink Maestro steering wheel control):

That's really creative and innovative. Awesome!
I drink current, eat ohms, and bleed voltage
