amp is not powering on

Hey people I have installed the following in my car. 2 x pioneer premiers (1000rms ech) 1 x TARGA 9000 watt monoblock amp (1800 RMS @ 1ohm) And also a mid amp . Equiliser and a 4 gage cable kit.. At first when we was testing it was sounding alright but couldn't actually turn it up full due to fussy nieghbours. Well last night I took a drive where I can test the sound and believe me its really loud. But the thing is while I was on my 6th test song everything just switched off. My 2 amps off and only my front loader and eq was on. When I opend. Up the bonnet the fuse was blown. Please guys what do u tink caused this and pls advise on what I should do to prevent this to happen again :( I hope my amps are okay :(play,live,love :)

fuse probably wasnt big enough for the size of your amps. what size wire do you have running to each amp?

Hey I have 4 gage wire on the big amp and just a small cable for the mid amp (probably 8 gage for small amp I'm sharing it from the big amps remote and power c0z I'm runing just 2 6x9z on the small amp)play,live,love :)

ok and what is the rating of the fuse that blows? assuming those amps are accurately rated then you should have at least a 150 amp fuse as your main fuse, anything smaller and it will probably blow even with normal listening volume. the problem is that the size of your wire is also an issue because a 4 gauge wire would be at its limit for that amount of current so if you increase the size of the fuse to match your amps then you run the risk of burning up your wire over time. i would suggest that you run a separate wire for your smaller amp with its own fuse which will help avoid burning your bigger wire and leave the bigger wire dedicated to your bass amp. check on the wire from time to time and inspect it to make sure there are no signs of the wire heating up and burning, if it looks like the wire is getting darker and heating up then you will need to upgrade to a bigger power wire, 2 gauge at least.

I(A) = P(W) / V(V) 1800 Watts (RMS), is 150 Amps, so yeah, at least 150 amp fuse.
