Hi all,
I have a kenwood excelon KDC-X794. The headunit has 6ch of outputs. I want to use the X794 (internal amp) to power the front two speakers, and power the rear speakers with a 2-ch amplifier.
Is anyone familiar with the excelon line? Is this possible?

You can either, get a Hi-Lo Converter(LOC), or an amp with high level inputs. Use the front leads to the speakers, and the rear leads to the LOC or AMP with hi-level inputs.

I am thinking he is saying that the deck has front, rear and sub RCA jacks. If this is the case, then yes you can do what you want to do. Depending on your car and the size of the speakers, you may want to use the external amp on the front speakers and use radio power on the rears.
