esmith69 has suggested that a sealed box enclosure would work the best for music that sounds crisp, like rock or anything close to that. I was wondering what brand of subs would work best for a sealed enclosure, assuming the box is the right size. Also this will be sitting in a big trunk, a 91 Crown Victoria trunk, so the distance between me and it is quite a ways away.  Could prolly fit 5-6 dead bodies in there...hehe. Thanx

money rules, gavinjuice... how much you want to spend? would you like a loud sub or one that reproduces instruments more accurately?

I would like to spend ballpark under 250 for subs. Plus i need to get an amp. Anyways I want something that sounds clean, crisp ,and clear when listening to mostly rock, classic rock, punk, hardcore etc. I just want something that will clearly emphasize the instruments, like the drums, bass guitar, and guitar. I do want loud, but not sh*tty when i turn things up.

Ok. I rather buy 1 good quality sub with high power handling than 2 of lesser quality for the same money. Maybe you would consider a Shiva Mark III from Adire audio ($125 at this link : http://www.acoustic-visions.com/Shiva.htm) this is a great sub, and you will still have money to buy a good enclosure... another one is the JL audio 12W3v2... a little more expensive are the Image dinamics IDQ 12 models... check them at www.sounddomain.com. Finally, I just bought a nakamichi SPW-1200d (I'm a brand fan) but I have not installed it yet, so no can tell... There are a lot more options, but all those are around or below $200 (maybe a little more w/shipping-handling), I have own or listened to all of them and I really liked them. So, wait for more guys to give opinions and shop around...
