Can I Add an Alpine Changer That Does MP3 CDs to an Alpine Head Uni

I have an ALPINE 7982 3Disc tuner that has a button on it to control a 6 cd changer. I've used this before with a S600 6 disc changer. This will only read CD's, won't read MP3's or DVD data discs with mp3's on it. Is there a way I can replace this changer with a newer one and get it to do this??

Theoretically any AI-net alpine CD changer should be compatible. The CDE-9872 was made around 2008 which was one of the last years that alpine produced anything with the AI-net connection, so any CD changer made before that, which is pretty much any Alpine CD changer, should work. Good luck finding one that does support MP3, I think that will be the hard part since they haven't been made in ten years.This is all assuming that your current cd changer is using an AI net connection, which may be wrong. Hopefully someone else on here can shed more light.

An optional 6-disc or 12-disc CD Changer may be connected to the CDA-7995/CDA-7894/CDA-7893/CDA- 7892 if it is Ai-NET compatible.

These are the only 2 units that are MP3 Capable. Alpine no longer makes cd changers. Alpine DHA-S690 6 Disc DVD-Changer plays regular CDs or DVDs, or either format loaded with MP3, WMA, or AAC files. (newest, current model) Alpine CHA-S634  6-Disc CD changer (previous model, replaced by Alpine DHA-S690)
