My son has a 2004 Chevy Impala and i want to put in a stereo for him but i can't seem t find the right wiring kit. All i am finding is ones that keep chime and steering controls and such. I do know he does not have onstar, no steering wheel controls and no amplifiers. Just a basic stereo which i added to post.

What wiring kit do i need to get to install a basic aftermarket head unit.

Metra 70-2003 will work for you. You will have to find a switched power source to make it go on and off with the key. There is a suitable wire at rear of the air conditioner controls. Brown wire on the plug with the larger wires.
