I'm planning to run two parallel-wired subs off a mono amp. Is it necessary to connect both the right and left channel outputs from the deck to the amp? This is going into an '02 Tahoe and I'm not crazy about trying to figure out the left and right leads coming off the deck and into the factory amp. I was thinking about tapping the wires going into the sub, connecting them to a high/low output converter then running RCAs to the amp. If I do things this way there will only be one channel going into to the amp. I don't think this is a problem but wanted to get some feedback from anyone willing to reply.

You're better off using both inputs. Use a quality Line Out Converter (another name for High/Low output converter) and install it between the Factory amp and speakers. Make sure you don't install it before the factory amp (otherwise you would need a different type of LOC or a Line Driver). If you tap the speaker wires directly after the Factory amp, then it wont be a hassel and you'll send a full signal to the aftermarket amp.

Yeah get the converter, it will make things easier. That should make things clearer
