I need help with a wire. On the pioneer headunit there is a ORANGE / white wire that has the words "ill" on it. Do I connect this wire to the illumination wire on my car or the dimmer wire. I think it goes to the illumination wire on my stock radio harness but am not sure.

Just as a general rule of thumb, If you're ever unsure about the illumination or dimmer wires you should always err on the side of caution and not connect them.  Tape each one off individually so that they do not touch a spot of bare metal  and short out something.

That wire is an illumination wire  and you would connect it to your vehicle's illumination wire, NOT its dimmer wire.  If you got a wiring harness (such as those available from Metra or Scosche) they sometimes will have the ilumination wire be solid orange and sometimes it's ORANGE / white.  In this case it's always better to just match up function to function, and disregard the coloring.
