hello. im having major amp issues. i have an alpine cda-9811 head unit with 3 4v preout, an alpine 50wx2 amp a kenwood 600w amp (300W bridged), mb quart reference componet set speakers, and 2 10" jl audio wo subs. let me tell you how i have everything wired. i have a power wire fused going to a power distributor. then off one side the power wire goes to a cap and through the cap to the kenwood amp. which powers the 2 subs. the ohms on the subs is 2.2 something or other. i measured it. they are 4 ohm subs wired in parallel. the amp can handle a 2 ohm load. then i have the alpine amp powering the mb quart in the front. i have rcas go from the head unit to the amp. i dont have the front speakers connected on the harness on the head unit. since the alpine amp will be powering them. i have everything grounded correctly. ive checked every connection. the problem is. when i turn the radio on. i can hardly hear any sound. i can faintly hear it when i have the head unit turned up all the way. the gains arent at the lowest either. thats with the alpine amp. (i tested each amp separetely by removing the fuse in the distributor from the other.) now on the sub amp. its strange. when i have that connected, i hear a "pop" then the radio and everything turns off. then it turns back on again and turns off again. it will do this till i disconnect the amp. it seems like there is a common promplem since both the amps arent working. i dont know what it is. nothing is shorted to ground. ive checked every connection a million times. i figure its something dumb or something i dont know about. please help me out. thank you.

If you have a boom box or something with an rca out I would try and plug it into the amps and see if you get sound. Sounds to me like you might have a bad head unit.
