If im using 16 gauge speaker cable going to my sub.... What would like stepping up to 8 gauge speaker cable do... if anything, and oh yeah... its one ten and im running 800 watts

It wouldn't do much. At most use 12 gauge.

It won’t cause any harm to run an 8 but a 12 is more then stuffiest.

Your not running a whole lot of power so it is not at all necessary to use a 8 gauge... stick with 12.
