i'm putting in a new stereo after my old one got stolen, anyway here's my problem

I can't get any power to the radio, the wire colors go as follows for the lumina,

Orange -constant power

yellow -switched power

Black -ground

the stereos wires are labeled as

     red - ignition

      yellow - battery

        black - ground

I went through all the combinations , once with all the speakers hooked up , then with them disconnected and I'm getting nothing,

I checked the fuses too, and one was blown, but I replaced it , and theres still no power when I'm hooking the wires up,

          whats the deal?

have you checked with a DMM yet? one of the wires could have been pulled apart somewhere under the dash

use a test light to see if you actually have power going through the constant, and the ignition wires, and also test the ground connection while your there. If they all work then your head unit dosn't work.

actually i ran into a simular problem in my '94 lumina, but i got the power but no "memory" i always had to readjust the settings and finally had enough. i believe i connected the ground proper, ran my constant to my cig. lighter, and finally put a inline fuse (bypassing)the radio fuse in the fuse box but used that same wire if i remember correctly....hope this helps.
