I have 2 12 inch kicker l7 subs and i want to put them in an acura rsx.  I know i am going to need a capacitor, but i dont know what size to get.  It is between a scorpion 1.2 farad, 1.7 farad, or 2.2 farad.  Which one should i get?  By the way, I have a 2400 watt amp.  Any help greatly appreciated.

The rule of thumb is 1 farad for every 1000 watts, so you would need at least 2.5 farads for 2400 watts. More important then the capacitor is your cars charging system. You will need a high out put alternator in order to properly power your car audio system as well as the cars electrical system. Now your 2400 watt amp alone will draw about 185 amps at maximum volume, so I would suggest that you get the largest high output alternator you can find. Here is a list of some alternator manufactures

it been proven that caps do little- talking like fractional units. Think of it as a holding tank for power....it still has to get recharged.  Just another thing to run power to.

I suggest getting a bigger alt. like said bberman.

ebay has then pretty cheap.

I need quality equipment, feel free to donate.

I would use the 2.2 but go bigger if you can... 1000 watts per farard is great to run your system with
