I recently had a kenwood cd player stolen from my car ... they left me with wiring harness (the plastic thing that plugged into the back of the unit with all the wires coming out)
i don't know many details about the kenwood unit ... it may have been a KDC1020 but it had a white plastic harness rather than black which apparently means it was from an old model
i have located all 8 speaker wires and the amp wire but i am left with 6 wires ... brown, blue, GREEN / WHITE, WHITE/ green and 2 black and white (crimped together) ... if the GREEN / WHITE and WHITE/ green touch then there is a beeping sound ... this may or may not be an emmision from the alarm (it is not the full alarm sound)
does anyone know how i can work out what each one is?
I have a sony c.d. player that i can install myself if i can work out what the wiring is.
i have a voltage meter but so far have not been able to get a reading ... i have been looking for the app and ignition wires (12.5V) ... the key has been in the right positions (as far as i know)
thanks for your time

Did you have a Metra harness to begin with, or did you splice directly into the factory wires?
If you used a Metra harness then the Kenwood harness would have spliced into the Metra harness, and then the Metra harness would be plugged into the factory harness. In that case all you would need is the Metra diagram.
If you had the wires spliced directly into the vehicle wiring then post the make/model/year of your car. We can get you the factory wire codes that you can tap into if you don't have the factory harness anymore.

Look at the bundle of wires that you have left. Trace them back to the vehicle. Are they plugged into an adapter, or do they disappear into the dash?
