1.5 Din in a 2.0 Din?

Has anyone ever put a 1.5 Din Head unit in a 2.0 Din opening? Can this be done? Any suggestions or Tips would be greatly appreciated.

It's a 2003 Buick Century. Any Idea what dash opening kit I would need. Also what do you think about installing a 1.5Din head unit and a 1/2 Din Equalizer? this would Equal 2 Din ? right?

Are you sure it's a double DIN?  The information I can find says it is the same as a 2002 Buick which has a 1.5 DIN OEM radio (1.5 DIN is typical for GM products) The Metra dash kit 99-2001 is the proper adapter to install a single-DIN aftermarket system for the 2002 Century.

To answer your question, in general a double DIN opening can accomodate a 1.5 plus a 0.5 DIN device.  The DIN sizing system ensures uniformity so this kind of thing is possible.  Similarly, if your car is indeed 1.5 DIN, then a single DIN head unit plus a 0.5 DIN EQ should fit.  The dask kit is recomended to make the job easier, as well as the factory wiring harness adaptors. 

I recomend you have an install shop look at the car and tell you what size it is if you think it is actually dual-DIN, just to be safe.
