need your oppinions on the brand name spl

this i did not know....have you tested any of the spl stuff out, or have you heard any of it?????this is not for computition,it is for good hard banging sound....

I heard an SPL 1600 Watt amp (doesn't matter which model it is, because they're all the same on the inside) and it sounded ok. It was hooked up to a Power Acoustik 15" FUBR with dual 2 Ohm Voice Coils. The radio was a very weak radio; meaning it had a very weak RCA signal. The system had a Lanzar 3-way external crossover and its gain and the amps gain were turned all the way up and it didn't get too loud. Even thought it wasn't too loud, the lights dimmed severly and the system had a 1 Farad Capacitor. I think those amps aren't very efficient (meaning they need a lot of power to make power)! If you want an really good amp for subs check out the Hifonics Brutus Series, they have been highly praised and can be found on E-bay for around $150~$250. The Brutus amps are pretty cheap and offer a ton of features and power, plus they're efficient.
