Hey Mic360,

Most newer head units have a removeable trim ring, one that is part of the headunit and not the snap-on finish ring,  that facilitates installation but it's the faceplate that will determine how it'll be installed.  Does the faceplate fit inside the factory trim?  If it doesn't then you have no choice but to adjust the trim to the faceplate.  However, if the faceplate fits inside the factory opening then see about removing the trim on the headunit making sure of course that you're not removing critical anchors that hold your faceplate in place.  You might have to advance your headunit a little,  possibly drilling new holes in the bracket or adding shims. head unit dont fit -- posted image.
