Does anyone know how to get the LOC of the stock stereo of a 1999 or 2000 Alero.  The stereo does not work at all and it just says LOC on the screen.  I think it happened when the battery was disconnected when getting fixed.

Thanks,

Ryan

The radio's theftlock system has been activated. Someone has entered a code into the radio and the radio has lost power at some time. If you don't know the code don't try entering one. You only get 7 trys before the radio shuts down. It must then be powered with the key on for one hour before it gives you another 3 tries. Take the car to any GM dealer service department and they can unlock it for you. Ask them to deactivcate the theftlock system so it won't happen again. If you want you will still be able to enter your own code afterwards. Refer to the owner's manual for instructions if you have one.
