Hey all,

What do you guys and gals know about phase-linear speakers?  Are they any good? Any thoughts or opinions on them?  I know it's an old line of speakers.

Thanks!

Phase Linear USED to be one of the best lines of high-end stereo equipment in the world.  I still use a 1977 Bob Carver-designed Phase Linear amp to drive the sub in my home theatre set up.  There are not too many better amps.  Carver left PL in 1982 and their quality went to hell after that and the company went out of business in about 1985.

Then, in about 1995 Recoton purchased the rights to the Phase Linear name and began building a line of cheap poor quality car stereo equipment.  It is horrible what they did to the PL name.  The speakers you are looking at are probably from this line and cannot be recomended.  Don't do it.  Same level of quality as other Recoton products, which is to say not much.
