My sister just bought a '94 Acura Integra. She has a deck and door speakers, but she wants a 10" sub or 2. She has somewhere around 500 plus or minus a little to spend. Any suggestions? Her boyfriend has 2 Audiobahn AW1006T's I think and a A2200HCT pushing them (600rmsx2). She wants something comparable or better. The only issue I can really think of is the alternator might not be able to support what she wants. She says she wants loud but good sq, but I don't know that she would really know the difference.

One Eclipse aluminum 12 and a good amp to power it, make a 1.25 cu.ft. gross sealed enclosure and let er rip, no looking back, just stares from people saying that's one sub, holy ****!

I agree with Forbidden, 1 Eclipse 12 Aluminum http://www.eclipse-web.com will give her the sound of 2 12's and excellent sq. If your looking for a good quality reasonably priced amp to go with the Aluminum I would suggest a JBL 600.1 http://www.purecaraudio.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=352   I have installed a few those setups and have never heard anything but WOW! As far as the price goes you can get that set up for rite around $500.

Or for just over 500 probobly you could buy a JL W6v2 and a Fosgate 401S amp that outputs 400 watts bridged into 4 ohms. This sub would sound excellent but still rattle your rib cage when you want it loud. You can buy this amp of crutchfield.com for only $199 and the sub would probobly be around $350. You should seriously look at this setup!!

Thanks for all the quick replies so far. I found a 12" alum on eBay for 184.95 and it comes with an in-store warranty  of 1 year. Does this sound like a good deal? It is new in box.

No it does not sound like a good idea. Eclipse is only available at a specialty retailer and if you want warranty on the sub you must purchase it from an authorized dealer. What happens if you buy this sub and it is new (look closely at the mounting screw holes for tell tale signs of installation) and 9 months later if you have a problem, who will look after you? Maybe the net retailer will, maybe he won't, maybe he cannot replace the sub with the same one and now while he may give you a different sub, you need to rebuild the box. I'm sure you can see where I am going with this. Just want to make sure you do it right and protect your investment, that's all.

**BUY FROM EBAY AT YOUR OWN RISK**Depending upon your location and authorized dealers price, you should be able to get the Aluminum for $250 -$300. Its allot of money but the sub is defiantly worth every penny. The extra money you would pay from an authorized dealer is worth the peace and mind knowing you have a valid warrantee in the event something should go wrong.

I would spend the extra money at a local shop, and get a warranty that way...I have bought things of ebay...due to the fact that it was cheap...not really worring about a warrant....good luck

Spend the extra money on the sub. If it breaks and the person you buy from wont replace it for you then you might spend twice as much replacing it with one from a dealer with a warranty then you did buying it off ebay.

I couldn't agree more. Spend the money and buy Authorized! You never know what you're getting from eBay (regardless of what the description says).
