Okay, does anyone know the science behind unlocking a theftlok radio? This is not for illegal purposes. It's for the convenience of the customer who has a upper end Chevy/GM radio and it has to be removed. It's a real drag to have to take it to the dealership to get this done.

If you don't feel like posting how on here (and I can understand why) PM me.

Thanks!

Unless you deal with dealerships all the time, you will have to take it to them, Otherwise, they should be able to talk you through it. There are many different security codes on their units and in order to unlock them, you must retrieve two codes from the unit and the dealership can cross them to get the unlock code.

Yeah, it's just for security purposes.  When I worked for Ultimate, and a customer was selling their car, we'd remove the equipment we installed and reinstall their factory gear for free.  When I ran into this, I'd call the dealers, give them my name, and who I worked for, and tell them what I needed and why.  I'd give them the numbers on the radio, and sometimes they'd tell me what I needed, sometimes they'd tell me to send them the customer, and they'd fix it for free.  It just depends on who you deal with.
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.

Sometimes the dealer would be pissy about it...sometime they will just give them to you...Or make the customer get them.
