Im going to move my he2 into a custom box now. Is mdf the only kind u can use? I know someone who used 1/2" wafer board on a 15 and it sounds fine.

yea, u said it right. it sounds fine. it should sound amazing. Sure you can use waferboard, if you want. I wouldn't recommend it. I doubt anyone on here would either. Waferboard isnt as strong as MDF. But, if you really wanna, i'd suggest you line that box with a layer or two or fiberglass resin.

use the mdf.  it should at least 3/4." nevermind the cheap particle board, its not worth youre trouble anyway. a sheet of that mdf is only $19.00 at lowes. thats for a 4X8' sheet which is more than enough for what you are doing.
