This is kind of an extension of a thread I had going about a week ago. I'm trying to narrow down the 4-channel amp I want. I thought for a while that I wanted the Eclipse 5422 but I've decided that it's too much amp for me and just too expensive.

To recap, I have a 99 GMC Sonoma Extended cab. My source will be a PC outputted to an equilizer (likely the AudioControl Three.1) and then sent to the 4-channel amp. The amp will power my two stock 6.5" door speakers and 4x6" dash speakers. At a later date I'll upgrade the door speakers to componets, ditch the dash speakers, and bridge two channels on the amp and run a 10" sub off of it. I'm going for SQ on a budget here. For the amp I'm thinking $300-400CDN.

The amps I'm thinking about right now are (although I don't know the prices on a couple yet)

Eclipse 3422
Alpine MRV-F340
MTX of similar power (I think it's the 404?)
JL e4300

Experiences with these amps anyone? Any other suggestions for what I should be looking at?

All those amps are good quality. I can especially recomend the Eclipse, the Alpine or the JL.

The only thing that turns me away from the Eclipse is the fact that it looks like the low-pass crossover is fixed at 80Hz. How critical is it to have an adjustable LPF, or is 80Hz what it's usually cut at? I thought it was normally around 100-110Hz?

Yeah I guess I'll update my thread here for anyone who is interested.

Since I'll be using the AudioControl Three.1, I can use it's built in adjustable crossover. It has a much better (steeper and quality) crossover than the Eclipse (or most amps for that matter). So I have no need to worry about the crossovers on the Eclipse. And for anyone who's interested, the Eclipse is cheaper than the JL and MTX from the quotes I've gotten. I don't have a price on the Alpine yet (other than eBay which I've decided against for warranty reasons).
