ok i am reading on eclispes site that this speaker which is there marine speaker is 985db sensitivity can anyone tell me if this is a typo or real b/c if it is im buying em right now... tell me if im wrong but the higher the sensitivity the louder the music is per watt right? thanks

The sensitivity rating is 85db. They are a great speaker, go for it. You are correct about the way they rate them, the higher the sensitivity in db the louder they play with the same amount of input, this however does not tell you how they will sound.

i figured they where good....but they are going in my car.... 96 explorer and im only getting 6.5s b/c i cant really find 5x7s to fit in my car and i was told that 6.5 produce clearer frequencys but right now im looking at the infinity kappa 6.5s and suggestions would be nice....im running it off of an alpine deck 50x4watts max

Back up the bus, you are putting a marine speaker in your exploder doors? Sure this can be done but your name is Tucker, not Sucker. There are a whole pile of good 5x7 speakers that will work in your vehicle. Eclipse makes a fine 5x7, so does MB Quart. If moisture is a concern and warranty is an issue, do the MB Quart DKE157, they have a 3year warranty here in Canada (should be the same there) and they have sq that will embarass the Eclipse and Infinity. Speakers are in the ear of the beholder though, buy what sounds good to your ears. Mine prefer MB Quart.

no i didnt plan on marine speakers and water doesnt seem 2 be a prob in it i just figured that would be some aweseom s**t if it was 9** DB wut suggestions do u have for a 96exlporer xlt its got 5x7 holees i belive but i cant find any speakers that are an exact fit
