i have an 84 oldsmobile regency and ive installed a jensen cd3010x, had to splice wires cause the vehicles wire harness was cut off a long time ago.. the head unit is working - lights come on, cd spins - but there's no sound coming out of any of the speakers.. except for a little bit of staticy noise that gets louder when the volume is turned up, but no music.. i dont know very much about car audio, but i do know that all the wires have been connected correctly.. this hu has been installed in this same car before, and worked fine.. but i didnt do it the first time, so i dont know if i've done something differently.. ive checked my fuse box and replaced blown fuses.. i dont have another hu to connect and test, and i dont have another car to test my hu in.. is there any way to tell if something is wrong with the hu versus something wrong with the car speakers?  like i said i dont know much about this kinda stuff... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.. thnx...

use your DMM and see what  the OHM load on them is, I am sure that the speaker is busted.
