back pre-2002 i had a set up of a Planet audio p-250 amp (200 watts, 2 ohms, 2 channel) hooked up to 2 ten inch planet audio subs. Since then i sold that truck and now have a 2002 toyota tundra. I am trying to re-hook up that system, and am completely new to all of this. Anyways it doesnt seem like my amp is getting any power. I have a positive lead from the battery to the +12V input, the ground connected to the frame, and the REM connected to (what i think is) the radio power lead. The power light in the amp doesnt come on when i turn on the car or the stereo. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go from here? <<P.S. i have the subs connected to the rear speakers in series, not in parallel>>

use your DMM and see what power the amp is not getting.

Why? ,,,,Try putting 12v to the remote term from youre batt wire, if you dont have a light tester.

I will try a DMM as soon as I get one, maybe tomorrow. But I did try to just connect the REM lead to the 12v lead from the battery, I got nothing. I put the subs in series because for what ever reason the stock stereo harness is not wired like a 2003 tundra, or any other toyota that has wire diagrams on this site. So basically I would put them in parallel but I dont know which wire is the negitive signal... again I am really new at all of this. Thanks for your replies.

Double check the power wire, first for a blown fuse in the power line, next to make sure it is attached to battery positive. Then check the fuse in the amp, still nothing, take the damn amp out and connect it at the battery, if the thing does power up then check the ground wire, if no dice, then place under wheels and do the pilsbury amp bake off.
