Infinity difference?

In my quest to get my system put together I've grown somewhat fond of Infinity speakers (mostly from friends highly reccomending them). I'm going to get some components up front, but I'm a bit puzzled on which variety to get. Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1 vs Infinity Reference 6000cs. Pretty big price difference, and I'm just curious if you actually hear a noticeable difference between the 2? I have no doubt that the Perfect's are better somehow, but I also don't want to throw $$ away one a difference I may never hear (not exactly perfect hearing, not going to be doing competitions, and they'll be heard over a loud diesel engine to boot). Any input from you pro's? Also, I may have a good deal on an amp, but it seems kinda big for these speakers (RF 851x 110w x 4ch). The speakers I'm looking at say they want 90-100rms, is 110 pushing my luck, or is it not big enough to really matter? One last question for the night... Does anyone have reccomendation for other compentent speakers that would be comparable (price or quality) to the Infinities? Thanks again guys!

I sell both sets of the infinity speakers you are talking about and for your situation I think its definatly a waste of money for you to buy perfects. You wont be able to appreciate the difference in your load ass diesel truck. Expessially if you arent going to do comp's than you dont need to drop the extra doe.

also the kappas are very deep...... hard to mount in certain cars...

Forbidden drives a diesel crewcab and knows lots about the noise that it generates and that of oversize tires as well. I would recommend that you listen to the speakers and buy the ones that your ears like and your budget will afford. What kind of PU do you have? I would also highly recommend the MB Quart and Diamond or Focal speakers, my first choice being MB Quart.Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

Generally if you are buying Quart you are spending more than you do on referance infinity. At least if you are buying brand new from a dealer. I have seen Quart on clear out from time to time very cheap and if you can hit a sale like that then its definatly a good option. Also if the deal falls through on the amp I find that th infinity are quite efficient and run of head units fine. I cant say I have had the same positive experience with quart

Thanks for the tips! My truck is a '00 F250 Powerstroke. I'm glad everyone seems to be saying the cheaper version would suit my needs fine. I don't mind spending money, I just hate wasting it (when I could be spending it on other toys). I'm still throwing the idea of an amp around. I'm getting an Alpine 9815 headunit, so it should put out ok power (for a head unit), but it seems like amps usually make things sound clearer. I might just run them off the head unit for a while, and if I don't like that I can add an amp later (when/if I ever get time to build a sub box/amp rack for the back). But if it sounds good from the headunit I might take the extra $$ and put in a better pair of subs and maybe a different amp for them. So many choices, so little time and money lol
