hey all im new here and i just did my own install, it sounds good but i was wondering about the fuse size for the amp, its an audiobahn 1300hct, it has 3x30A on the amp and it runs 1200W RMS, now i have a 4 gauge wire over i think ~10ft with an 80A fuse, should i go with a 2 gauage and a bigger fuse or is this fine for the amp.

If the fuse doesn't blow, then the fuse should be more than enough.  Personally, I think 4 gauge wire should be more than enough for that amp.  If you ended up with a bigger amp though, I would definately upgrade to 2 gauge.

I would probobly go with a 90 amp fuse like the total amount that are installed on the amp. If you take 1200 watts RMS * 2 then divide by the average output of your alternator (13.8 volts) and divide that answer by two to take into acount that the average musical peak takes about half as much power as a test tone does and you get 86.95 amps as your average draw. Good luck finding a 90 amp fuse though so you will have to buy a 100 amp one like this or something similar. Your 4 gauge power cable should be fine for this amp though.
